Volunteer at Metro Caring Foodbank

One of the core values of ZCD is a commitment to kindness and service. “The fruit of our practice is loving-hearted relationships and right action in the world.”

As such, and in alignment ZCD’s affiliation with Zen Peacemakers International, we regularly support the work at Metro Caring Food Bank by providing a crew of volunteers the third Thursday of every month. You are warmly invited to join our volunteers to assist in the warehouse with unpacking and sorting food, stocking shelves, or checking in/checking out customers. No prior training is required. Please use the Register button below to volunteer for this day.

We have a number of regular volunteers who know the ropes and the Metro Caring staff also do a good orientation for first-time volunteers. If this is your first time, ZCD Volunteer Coordinator David Gibson will contact you regarding parking instructions and a volunteer waiver form. We start with a brief meeting in the parking lot at 11:45 am before starting our shift at 12 noon. Our shift ends at 3:30.
