Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn over 40 years ago at UMass Medical School. It is highly effective at helping manage stress, pain and illness, as well as finding more joy, ease and insight into one’s life, and has been shown to provide myriad physical and psychological benefits. This 6-week series is a secular mindfulness course available for anyone interested in learning widely applicable mindfulness and meditation skills. Registration is limited to 20 participants.

Peggy Sheehan, M.D., brings many years of experience of teaching MBSR programs at Kaiser Permanente, along with being a Zen teacher and one of the ZCD’s spiritual directors. Peggy offers a wonderful balance of decades of meditation practice, clinical experience and gentle humor.

The cost of this series is $200 for ZCD members, and $275 for non-members. The series includes six classes and one retreat day.
