Join us after Sunday Morning Shamatha on Sunday, November 1 for this Halloween‑themed fall FUNdraiser full of song, silliness, and Dharma delight!

Karmaoke is just around the corner, bringing an impressive lineup of dharma songs, plenty of laughs, and a chance to help sustain our dharma center into the new year. This year’s program includes beloved classics from years past, along with performances by the children’s group, the India pilgrimage group, and the leadership team, along with many others (rumor has it Lama Eric will be singing…)

Karmaoke this year will also be streamed over Zoom for those not able to make it in person. The Zoom link will be the same one used for the Shamatha session before and can be found below. However, reader beware… If you’ve signed up for a song, you must show up in the flesh.

In the spirit of the season, costumes are encouraged!

Walking through the neighborhood, we’re surrounded by the season’s bright abundance: piles of orange pumpkins, multicolored mums, apples, plums, and figs. It’s a reminder of harvest time and the playful tradition of donning colorful costumes. Our Buddhist tradition offers so many characters to draw from: ghosts, demons, goddesses, yogis… or simply follow whatever calls to your imagination. What will your Karmaoke costume be?

Join us after the singing for a seasonal potluck to carry the energy forward.

From pumpkin pies to spicy carrot soups and foccacias, past gatherings have been true gastronomic feasts! Bring a favorite dish or simply bring yourself, and join us in celebrating the turning of the season together.

Karmaoke is an opportunity to tap into our generosity and support our community in a meaningful way.

Together, we help ensure that teachings, care, and connection remain available to all who come through our doors. Funds raised through this Karmaoke (fun)draiser help cover wages, monthly operating expenses, and, we hope, provide resources to care for and maintain the buildings and grounds at SCOL.
